چکیده
Cover crops are promoted to increase soil organic carbon (SOC) storage and improve biological health in agricultural systems. However, cover crop effects on microbial communities – key regulators of SOC nutrients functioning not clear semiarid environments. This study investigated the response community structure enzyme activities integration under limited-irrigation winter wheat (Triticum aestivum)-sorghum (Sorghum bicolor)-fallow rotation. The had a randomized complete block design with eight treatments three replications. Treatments were pea (Pisum sativum); oat (Avena sativa); canola (Brassica napus L.); mixtures + (POmix), (PCmix), (POCmix), hairy vetch (Vicia villosa) forage radish (Raphanus sativus L.) barley (Hordeum vulgare (diverse-mix) as crops; fallow. Soil samples collected summer 2017 2018 from 0 15 cm depth each plot established fall 2015. Microbial size evaluated via ester-linked fatty acid methyl ester (EL-FAME) analysis, which showed that total fungal similar between soils oats diverse-mix, 31% 41% greater than fallow, respectively. FAME marker for arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) was 84% combined activity phosphatase, β-glucosidase, β-glucosaminidase 294 mg p-nitrophenol (PNP) kg−1 h−1 fallow (204 PNP h−1, p = 0.021) 2018. cropping during period crop-fallow rotation could size, abundance, associated (C) nutrient cycling. Among crops, its mixture legumes (pea vetch) brassicas (canola radish) most effective improving biogeochemical cycling hot dry climate.

Microbial Community Composition as Affected by Dryland Cropping Systems and Tillage in a Semiarid Sandy Soil
This study evaluated microbial communities of soil (0–10 cm) as affected by dryland cropping systems under different tillage practices after 5 years. The soil type was an Olton sandy loam with an average of 16.4% clay, 67.6% sand and 0.65 g kg of organic matter (OM). The cropping systems evaluated were grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.)— cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) (Srg-Ct), cotton-winter rye (...
متن کاملEffects of Winter Cover Crops Residue Returning on Soil Enzyme Activities and Soil Microbial Community in Double-Cropping Rice Fields
Residue management in cropping systems is useful to improve soil quality. However, the studies on the effects of residue management on the enzyme activities and microbial community of soils in South China are few. Therefore, the effects of incorporating winter cover crop residue with a double-cropping rice (Oryza sativa L.) system on soil enzyme activities and microbial community in Southern Ch...
متن کاملEffects of plant species coexistence on soil enzyme activities and soil microbial community structure under Cd and Pb combined pollution.
The relationship between plant species coexistence and soil microbial communities under heavy metal pollution has attracted much attention in ecology. However, whether plant species coexistence could offset the impacts of heavy metal combined pollution on soil microbial community structure and soil enzymes activities is not well studied. The modified ecological dose model and PCR-RAPD method we...
متن کاملTree Species Composition Influences Enzyme Activities and Microbial Biomass in the Rhizosphere: A Rhizobox Approach
Monoculture causes nutrient losses and leads to declines in soil fertility and biomass production over successive cultivation. The rhizosphere, a zone of usually high microbial activities and clearly distinct from bulk soil, is defined as the volume of soil around living roots and influenced by root activities. Here we investigated enzyme activities and microbial biomass in the rhizosphere unde...
متن کاملThe influence of soil heavy metals pollution on soil microbial biomass, enzyme activity, and community composition near a copper smelter.
The environmental risk of heavy metal pollution is pronounced in soils adjacent to large industrial complexes. It is important to investigate the functioning of soil microorganisms in ecosystems exposed to long-term contamination by heavy metals. We studied the potential effects of heavy metals on microbial biomass, activity, and community composition in soil near a copper smelter in China. The...
